What's New At VEG!?!
Featuring "things"

that you WILL want to see out at

VCMGA's
Victoria Educational Gardens...
UPLOADED WEEK OF May 23
Welcome...come out to VEG soon.  Barbara has been working diligently on painting the Water Harvesting Tank by the Rose Arbor.  You can see her beautiful tropical "work of art" here.  You must see it for real.
Also, there is a beautiful Ligularia Shade Plant in the Shade Area according the Nancy Zaplac, chair of those classes in charge there (Transfers, 97, 98, 99)
There are some wonderful ornamental grasses in the area over by the LARGE wind chimes.  Check them out!
Find more information about Rainwater Harvesting at this web site on our VCMGA.org web site.
It's always special finding a plant for a shady area, and this one found in the Shade Area at VEG is spectacular.  The leaves of the giant ligularia plant grow up to 18 inches across and can give the landscape a tropical look, although the plant is very hardy in the cold.  It has yellow daisy-like flowers that add color in summer through fall on 4-foot spikes.

Nancy Zaplac is chair of that area for the Classes of 97, 98, 99 and the Transfers.
Find more information about this plant for shady spots in our
2010 Spring Plant Sale article.  We sold lots of these plants during that sale.
This beautiful purple fountain grass can be found in the Ornamental Grass Area over by the large wind chimes in the corner of VEG.  This area is being maintained by the Class of 2008.
See more about beautiful ornamental grasses in this article in the
Gardeners' Dirt wirtten by Brice Pavlish.
A very special thanks to Brynn Lee for photographing NEW THINGS AT VEG.
