To report your volunteer hours to Barbara Haley, VCMGA President Elect:
Right Click on the ~CLICK HERE~ above
Select "Save target as" to save the xls form to your computer
Once you save the document, click to allow editing
Fill  in your NAME, MONTH, YEAR
Click on "Save as" under the FILE tab and place your cursor after the 2013VCMGAHours (it will be in blue) add your name and the month and save
You will be able to save all 12 months of volunteer hours on your computer.
Beginning with December 2012, send each file to Barbara at the end of month.

VCMGA 'Lunch & Learn' on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 12:15 p.m. -- There will be no Lunch and Learn in January, April, July, October and December.

You will report 1 CEU for each time you attend Lunch and Learn before our regular monthly meeting.  Report it at the bottom under Continuing Education Hours (For Certified Members Only)  If you are an intern, you do not accumulate CEUs until you are a Certified Master Gardener.  You may attend as many hours as you wish.  6 CEUs are required each year and you accumulate them in many different ways.

15 HOURS ARE REQUIRED BY EVERY CERTIFIED MEMBER EACH YEAR TO RE-CERTIFY
Veg workdays are every Mon. and Thurs.9 to 12
There is no set time otherwise. You may work any time at your convenience
Greenhouse Work Days –Every Wed. and Sat. morning
When working in the gardens or greenhouse the time is counted as VEG hours

Working out at the complex for any other maintenance will be considered ALL HOURS--Airport Land Lease--ALL HOURS COUNT AS VEG HOURS.

MASTER GARDENER
VOLUNTEER TIME AND RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Hours needed by December 1st  for
Interns to become Texas Master Gardeners:
REQUIRED VOLUNTEER HOURS
VEG (including ALL hours) -- 20
Approved Projec t-- 10
ET – Extension Telephone (Any County) -- 8
The remainder to total 50 hours may be any of the above areas. 
Total (30 must be volunteered in Victoria County) 50


Hours needed by December 1st  for Texas Master Gardeners to be
recertified:
REQUIRED VOLUNTEER HOURS
VEG (including ALL hours) 15
The remainder to total 21 hours may be in VEG, ALL or any Approved Project, 6
21 Total (6 must be volunteered  in Victoria County) 21
  
REQUIRED CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS 6


Approved Project/Activities – Informative Talks, Landscape Maintenance (except Airport Land Lease), Master Gardener Administration/Leadership, Master Gardener News (print or Web), Youth Education, Symposiums, Victoria Garden Tour, Junior Master Gardener Activities, Master Gardener Monthly Meetings and Master Gardener Monthly Board Meetings.  (Excluding VEG, ET – Extension Telephone, ALL – Airport Land Lease, and IC -Individual Contacts).


Note:  Master Gardener Interns may attend Continuing Education Hours but they are not required.  Only Master Gardeners are required to attend Continuing Education Hours to be recertified the following year.


Note:  By-Law changes may potentially affect these recertification requirements.

This form will be sent out in July of each year for you to verify your hours.
According to adopted Bylaws as of 2012: Article III. Membership
Section 8.
Members must maintain their certification through re-certification each year to retain
membership in the association. Re-certification will include a minimum of
six (6) additional
hours of training and
twenty-one (21) additional hours of Extension Service volunteer work of
which
fifteen (15) shall be at, for or with the Victoria Educational Gardens (VEG). All members
must be approved through the required Youth Protection Standards background check which is
renewed every
three years.
